Practicing internet sex via chat is forbidden, whether through audio and video or audio only. This is metaphorically called zina (fornication/adultery) because it is a prelude to actual zina. A share of zina has been decreed for the son of Adam, which may be actual or metaphorical, such as through forbidden looking, listening, speaking, touching, walking, or through the thoughts of the heart. Repentance is obligatory for all types of zina.
