What should a 24-year-old girl do after striving diligently to achieve her career goals planned two and a half years ago through seeking forgiveness (istighfar) and observing times of answered prayers, only to find her affairs complicated at the beginning of achieving her first goal of becoming an inventor, and she finds no one to help her, and distress has overwhelmed her, and she wishes to earn a lawful living?

If a Muslim feels a lack of success, he should review himself and his relationship with Allah, for this might be due to sins that remove blessings and bring misfortunes. The servant should renew repentance and increase seeking forgiveness, while having a good opinion of Allah, for Allah might avert from him what he desires to save for him something better, in accordance with His, the Almighty's, saying: "But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you know not." For the servant is ignorant of his own interests and the wisdom of his Lord.
