What is the ruling on swearing an oath not to eat food at a specific person's house?

It is not good manners for a Muslim to refuse to eat the food of his brother if invited, unless there is harm in it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Had I been invited to a meal of a foreleg or a trotter, I would have accepted." If your refusal leads to a severance of kinship ties, then expiate your oath and eat the food, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever takes an oath and then sees something else as better than it, let him do that (the better thing) and expiate his oath."
