What is the ruling on someone who paid the expenses of Hajj for his friend as a loan, but the friend is still procrastinating in repayment despite his good financial standing and having performed Hajj with the paid money?
If it is established that your friend has a right over you and you are able to pay, it is not permissible to procrastinate in paying him, because procrastination is an injustice with dire consequences, and injustice will be darkness on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever takes the right of a Muslim by his oath, Allah has ordained the Fire for him and forbidden Paradise for him. Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, for there is no veil between it and Allah. And whoever has an injustice against his brother, let him seek absolution from it before the Day of Resurrection, when there will be no dinar nor dirham, but rather his good deeds will be taken, and if he has no good deeds, then some of his brother's evil deeds will be taken and cast upon him. And among the signs of an accepted Hajj is that its performer returns with more piety towards Allah, more fear of Him, and more observance of His limits.
