What is the Unseen?

The unseen (al-ghaib) is that which cannot be perceived by the five senses or that which no one knows except through God's revelation conveyed by the prophets, such as Paradise, Hell, the Resurrection, and the Reckoning. Belief in the unseen is obligatory, and Allah Almighty has praised those who believe in it, saying: "Who believe in the unseen, and establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them" [Al-Baqarah:3].
