To rule on a transaction, its nature must be known. If it is forbidden, then repentance consists of regret, seeking forgiveness, and resolving not to return to it; for whoever repents, Allah accepts his repentance. The prohibition of a loan relates to the liability (dhimmah), not to the specific item itself. Therefore, there is no harm in benefiting from what remains of the loan or from the price of what was bought with it.
