Is the ḥadīth that states that Allah delays answering the prayer of those He loves so that He may hear it true, and what is its text?
Al-Tabarani narrated a hadith from Jabir ibn Abdullah, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, which states that if a servant supplicates to Allah while Allah loves him, Allah commands Jibreel to fulfill his need but delay it, because He loves to hear his voice. But if he supplicates to Allah while Allah detests him, Allah commands Jibreel to fulfill his need and hasten it, because He dislikes hearing his voice. This hadith has a very weak chain of narration, as it contains Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Farwah, who is matruk (abandoned).
