Is Surat Al-Fatihah counted in every unit of prayer (rak'ah) among the number of verses in the Hadith "Whoever stands (in prayer) with ten verses will not be recorded among the heedless..."? And must the verses be different, or can certain surahs, such as Al-Waqi'ah and Ar-Rahman, be repeated to reach a thousand verses?

It appears that Surat Al-Fatihah is not counted among the number of verses recited during Qiyam al-Layl (night prayer), based on the statement of Al-Harawi al-Qari: "The apparent meaning of the context is that what is intended is other than Al-Fatihah." As for repeating Surahs Ar-Rahman and Al-Waqi'ah, and whether doing so earns the reward of praying a thousand verses, there is a difference of opinion among scholars regarding this issue.
