Is it permissible to eat the meat of animals slaughtered by innovators (mubtadi'ah) who are unknown, if the evidence (hujjah) has been established against them, but cannot be presented?

It is permissible to eat the slaughtered animal of common Muslims and People of the Book, whether they are upright or corrupt, unless the innovation (bid'ah) is one that constitutes disbelief (kufr), and the proof has been established against its practitioner, and he persists in it. If it is not known that the proof has been established against the innovator, then he is not considered a disbeliever, and his slaughtered animal remains permissible. A mistaken or erring Muslim is not declared a disbeliever except after the establishment of proof and the removal of doubt.
