Does a divorce take effect if I utter it after I replied to my husband's ultimatum, which was for me to choose between divorce and giving up my rights?

The majority of jurists hold that the choice must be exercised immediately. If the wife does not choose immediately upon being given the choice, her right to choose lapses, and divorce will not occur if she chooses thereafter. This opinion has been supported by the Companions and many prominent scholars. If the wife explicitly rejects the choice by saying: "I choose my husband" or "I reject the choice," her right to choose becomes void, and divorce will not occur if she chooses divorce after having rejected it.
