What is the ruling on lying to one's mother by denying the wearing of underwear stained with semen to avoid embarrassment in front of relatives?

Lying is forbidden and considered one of the major sins. One must be cautious of it, for truthfulness leads to righteousness and guides to Paradise, while lying leads to wickedness and guides to the Fire. In cases of necessity, a Muslim may use indirect speech (ta'reedh) and dissimulation (tawriyah) to avoid lying, as these provide a way out. Whoever has lied must repent to Allah with sincere repentance, regret their action, and resolve never to return to it. Allah accepts repentance and forgives sins.
