The answer

From Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned that a time would come when there would be callers at the gates of Hell, from our own skin and speaking our own tongues. If we reach that time, we must adhere to the community of Muslims and their Imam. And if they have no community or Imam, then we must withdraw from all those factions, even if we have to bite onto the root of a tree until death overtakes us while we are in that state. The meaning of isolating oneself from people during times of division is: whenever people have no Imam and they split into factions, one should not follow anyone in the division but rather isolate oneself from everyone, if possible, for fear of falling into evil. And whenever a righteous community adhering to the truth is found, it is obligatory to join it, increase its numbers, and cooperate with it upon the truth.
