How does a professional Muslim woman whose husband has passed away observe her iddah (waiting period) in a country that does not grant leave exceeding three days, and is it permissible for her to abandon the legal iddah in order not to be dismissed from her job and to earn a living?

She must observe the 'iddah (waiting period) and adhere to the prescribed mourning throughout its duration. It is permissible for her to go out during the day for her work, as it is among the important necessities. If she needs to go out at night due to necessity, fearing dismissal from work, then it is permissible, as Allah the Almighty says: (So fear Allah as much as you are able), and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: (If I command you to do something, then do as much of it as you can).
