How is the inheritance divided among: one son, three daughters, and a wife?

If there are no other heirs besides those mentioned, the estate is distributed as follows: The wife receives one-eighth due to the presence of a lineal descendant, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿But if you have children, they get an eighth of what you leave.﴾ The remainder goes to the children by way of ta'sib (agnatic inheritance), with the male receiving the share of two females, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females.﴾

The estate is divided into forty shares: the wife receives five shares, each daughter seven shares, and the son fourteen shares. The matter of estates must be referred to Sharia courts for investigation to determine if there are any bequests, debts, or other rights that the heirs may not be aware of.
