Who was the first Umayyad Caliph in Andalusia?

The first caliph to rule Al-Andalus was Abd al-Rahman ibn Mu'awiyah al-Umawi (the Falcon of Quraish and the entering Umayyad). He was born and grew up as an orphan in Damascus, and fled to Morocco after the fall of the Umayyad state in the Levant at the hands of the Abbasids. The Umayyads in Al-Andalus responded to his call, so he came there and established his state. He died in the year 138 AH.
