Is it permissible to wipe over the "taqasheer," meaning socks, during ablution?
It is permissible to wipe over socks (khuffs) if they are thick and cover the ankles. It is not permissible to wipe over thin socks or those that do not cover the ankles. Medical exfoliating socks that are thick and cover the ankles may be wiped over if they were worn after a complete state of purity (tahara). As for transparent or thin ones, it is not valid to wipe over them. In this case, one can wear a thick sock over them and wipe over it.
