What is the ruling on someone who shortens the noble Hadith: "Whoever relieves a Muslim of a worldly distress, Allah will relieve him of a distress on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever conceals [the faults of] his Muslim brother, Allah will conceal him in this world and the Hereafter. And Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, is in the aid of His servant as long as the servant is in the aid of his brother," to become: "Whoever relieves a Muslim of a worldly distress, Allah will relieve him of a distress on the Day of Resurrection. And Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, is in the aid of His servant as long as the servant is in the aid of his brother," without indicating the omission, and is there a Hadith with the same shortened wording?
There is no harm in limiting oneself to some phrases of a , as long as it does not distort the meaning. It is, however, recommended to point this out. The permissibility of this is indicated by the scholars' view on the permissibility of narrating Hadith by meaning, with its conditions, and by the action of Imam Al-Bukhari in segmenting Hadiths, where he distributes their phrases across chapters according to their meanings. Al-Suyuti stated in "Tadrib Al-Rawi" that the correct view is its permissibility for a knowledgeable person, provided that the omitted part is not so intrinsically linked to what is brought forth that its omission would distort the meaning.
