Islam affirms the right to life for every human being and considers it one of the most sacred rights, citing verses that prohibit the unlawful killing of a soul and equate the killing of one soul to the killing of all humankind. Islam also guarantees the right to equality among human beings in their origin of creation and human dignity, while differentiating in some rulings to ensure justice, and makes piety the sole criterion for distinction. Regarding negative inclinations, a mere inclination that does not translate into action or speech is not punishable, rather, struggling against such an inclination is considered an act of obedience, and it is impermissible to hold a person accountable or disdain them for it.
