Does the state of ihram cease at a certain age, and what is the ruling concerning the muhrim at funerals?

The mahram with whom a woman travels must be Muslim, male, adult, sane, and a perpetual mahram to her. As for privacy with a non-mahram woman (khalwa), it is averted by the presence of an adult mahram, or an elder who commands respect. It is not sufficient to have a young child, or the presence of another woman or another man, provided there is no suspicion and the absence of danger. Privacy with a non-mahram woman without a third person is forbidden by scholarly consensus. As for women visiting graves, it is not permissible according to the sounder of the two scholarly opinions.
