What is the legal ruling on the prayer of someone who prayed in congregation while listening to the news broadcast through an earpiece?

It has been previously explained that a slight listening by the worshiper to something external to the prayer does not invalidate the prayer, but if it is extensive, some jurists have ruled it invalid. There is no doubt that intentionally listening to news broadcasts during prayer and wearing headphones for that purpose is considered recklessness and a lack of concern for the prayer. Such a prayer is ruled invalid, and its repetition is obligatory.
