How can one deal with the talent of playing the piano while maintaining religious commitment? Should one abandon the piano entirely, or is it sufficient to play it alone?

The texts of the Quran and Sunnah indicate the prohibition of listening to musical instruments and singing. Allah's saying: "And of mankind is he who purchases idle talk to mislead [others] from the path of Allah without knowledge and takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment" (Surat Luqman, 31:6) was interpreted by Ibn Mas'ud as referring to singing. And Allah's saying: "And incite [to evil] whoever you can among them with your voice" (Surat Al-Isra, 17:64) was interpreted by Mujahid as referring to singing and musical instruments. Also, it was narrated in the Sunnah that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "There will be people from my Ummah who will consider unlawful sexual intercourse, silk, wine, and musical instruments as lawful." And his saying: "In the End of Time there will be earthquakes, showers of stones, and transformations [of people into animals], when musical instruments and female singers become prevalent, and wine is considered lawful." These proofs indicate that singing and musical instruments are among idle talk and the voice of Satan.
