Is it permissible for me to say "Indeed, Allah has chosen me" if Allah has granted me success in a righteous deed such as memorizing the Qur’an, and what are the permissible ways to express this?

It is permissible for a servant to say that Allah has chosen him through Islam and righteous deeds, for the Holy Quran contains indications of divine selection for some of His servants. The feeling of being chosen is commendable if it motivates obedience and overcomes whims, rather than leading to complacency in seeking higher virtues. A servant's feeling of uniqueness makes him feel shy before his Lord and observe his actions, and drives him to remain steadfast in Allah's religion. However, if this feeling transforms into a justification for extravagance, laxity, or rejection of the truth, it then becomes akin to the state of some Sufis who believe they have transcended action, and it may be a form of assuming attributes that are legally blameworthy.
