Is the obsessive doubt that prevents me from marrying a punishment from Allah for past sins, and will this suffering continue throughout my life? Is it permissible for me to go to a psychiatrist? And how do I identify a religious woman?

Praise be to Allah, who guided you to repentance. We ask Him to open your heart, strengthen you, and assist you. It is obligatory for one who is able to marry, due to its benefits in lowering the gaze, preserving chastity, following the traditions of the prophets, and hoping for righteous offspring. Allah Almighty said: (And We have already sent messengers before you and made for them wives and offspring) [Ar-Ra'd: 38]. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Four are from the traditions of the messengers: henna, perfume, siwak, and marriage." A Muslim should not remain in baseless delusions; rather, he should resolve and resist Satan. The delusions about women and their betrayal might be due to previous sins, but sincere repentance removes them. There is no impediment to consulting a specialized psychiatrist.
