The answer

The majority of scholars are of the opinion that it is permissible for a parent to give a gift to some of their children to the exclusion of others, or to favor some of them in a gift, even without a valid reason, although it is better to be just among them. Thus, if a parent gives a gift to some of their children while in good health, and the gifted children take possession of it before the parent's death, then the other heirs have no claim to it. Ibn Qudamah mentioned that what a father favors some of his children with, or allocates exclusively to some of them, and then dies before reclaiming it, becomes established for the gifted individual, and the heirs have no right to revoke it. This is what Imam Ahmad, Malik, Shafi'i, and most of the people of knowledge have stated.
