Playing cards or sitting to watch it is not permissible if it involves a forbidden شرعي (Shar'i) act, such as gambling, missing prayers, or inciting enmity. If it is free from these and other prohibitions, it is permissible with some dislike due to its waste of time. The earnings of the coffee shop owner from it are permissible if the playing is permissible; otherwise, it is forbidden. As for joking with non-mahram women, it is forbidden due to the sedition and corruption that may result from it.
