How shall we meet Allah given our shortcomings in raising our children?

Raising children is an obligation upon both parents, and negligence in it is a sin, based on the Almighty's saying: "O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire," and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Each of you is a guardian, and each of you is responsible for his subjects."

Scholars have mentioned that the obligatory extent of raising children is teaching them what is necessary for them after puberty concerning creed and acts of worship, and disciplining them by enjoining obligations and forbidding wrongdoings.

So, whoever has been negligent in raising their children must repent and make up for what they missed through upbringing, advice, and supplication. As for not being aware of modern parenting methods, this does not cause them to fall into sin as long as they have fulfilled their obligation.
