What is the ruling on saying "You are cursed" to someone who raised an iron bar against another, or committed an act that deserves cursing?

It is forbidden for a Muslim to point an iron object at his Muslim brother, and this is among the acts that incur a curse. Whoever does so is cursed by the angels, whether serious or joking. However, the curse directed at those who commit an act that incurs a curse is general, not specific to a particular person, such as saying: "May the curse of Allah be upon usurers." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade cursing a believer, and the majority of scholars prohibited cursing a specific person, due to the possibility of the person repenting, or having good deeds that expiate sins, or afflictions that atone for them, or an accepted intercession.
