What is the ruling on working for an electricity and gas company that supplies taverns, nightclubs, and brothels?

The basic principle regarding working for electricity and gas companies is permissibility, due to the public and private benefits they provide to people. However, it is not permissible to provide their services to people of immorality if doing so assists them in their wrongdoing, based on Allah's saying: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." Therefore, there is no objection to working for them if one avoids assisting people of immorality.
