How can a person atone for excessive oaths, some of which he does not remember, and which have become a habit for him, in contravention of what he swore to?

A Muslim must pay attention to oaths and should not take many of them except when necessary. He must uphold his oath by expiating it if he wishes to break what he swore an oath on. If there are multiple oaths concerning a single matter and he has not expiated the first, then one expiation is required of him. However, if the type of matter sworn upon varies, then each oath requires its own expiation.
