What is the authenticity of the Hadith: "Shall I not tell you about a people with the best spoils and the swiftest return? A people who witnessed the Fajr prayer, then sat remembering Allah until the sun rose; those are the swiftest in return and have the best spoils"?

The aforementioned hadith regarding the virtue of Fajr prayer and sitting for remembrance until sunrise was narrated by At-Tirmidhi from 'Umar ibn Al-Khattab, in which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Shall I not tell you about people who have the best spoils and the swiftest return? A people who witnessed the Fajr prayer, then sat remembering Allah until the sun rose; those are the swiftest in return and have the best spoils." This hadith was described as gharib (strange), and one of its narrators, Hammad ibn Abi Humayd, is considered weak.

Nevertheless, other hadiths have been authenticated concerning the virtue of sitting for remembrance after Fajr prayer until sunrise, among them what Abu Dawud narrated from Anas ibn Malik that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "For me to sit with a people remembering Allah Almighty from the morning prayer until the sun rises is more beloved to me than to free four descendants of Isma'il." Al-Albani graded this hadith as hasan (good).
