Is it more important to accept a wedding feast invitation than to attend a scholarly lesson in the mosque?

Responding to an invitation to a walima (wedding feast) is obligatory, based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "If one of you is invited to a walima, let him attend it," and his saying: "Whoever does not attend the invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger." As for attending a lesson in the mosque, it is recommended (mustahabb) and not obligatory, unless it becomes the only means to learn an individual obligation (fard ayn). If it is possible to combine both, then that is good. Otherwise, responding to the invitation takes precedence because it is obligatory, and an obligation takes precedence over a recommendation.
