Is Zakat permissible for me in my current situation, knowing that I am searching for housing after being evicted from my apartment, and I possess a sum of money that is neither large nor insignificant?

The questioner had to move out of the apartment after the company canceled the lease and he was unable to pay for it, and he must pay the rent for the period he stayed thereafter. He is allowed to take from Zakat to pay the apartment rent or to buy a residence if he is in need and his money is not sufficient, even if he owns the nisab or more.
