How can a committed, distinguished young man, who wishes to adhere to the methodology of the righteous predecessors, seek sound religious and worldly knowledge given the circumstances of his hometown where Sunnis are persecuted? And should he leave his hometown to seek sound knowledge?

To delve deeper into the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah and correct what has been studied from the Ash'ari creed, it is recommended to listen to recorded lessons by scholars known for the soundness of their belief, such as Sheikh Muhammad al-Uthaymeen, and to enroll in the Open Islamic University or scientific universities and institutes that teach the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah in Makkah or Madinah.

It is also advisable to acquire beneficial books on creed, starting with the easiest, such as "Al-Usul al-Thalathah" (The Three Fundamental Principles) and "Kashf al-Shubuhat" (Clarifying Doubts), then intermediate books like "Al-Aqeedah al-Wasitiyyah" and "Kitab al-Tawhid" (The Book of Monotheism), and then larger books such as "Sharh al-Tahawiyyah" (Explanation of al-Tahawiyyah) and "Sharh al-Wasitiyyah" (Explanation of al-Wasitiyyah). Although these indirect studies are beneficial, they do not substitute for direct study under the guidance of shaykhs.
