Why was the mention of pomegranates separated from fruit in the Quran, even though they are a type of fruit?

The verse, "In them are fruits and date-palms and pomegranates" (Qur'an 55:68), is an example of conjoining the specific to the general, to highlight the importance of date-palms and pomegranates. There are similar instances in the Qur'an, such as His saying, "Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and His messengers and Gabriel and Michael" (Qur'an 2:98), for Gabriel and Michael are among the angels.
