"What is the ruling on mortgaging agricultural land and other types of land, and what are the permissible and impermissible aspects of it? "
Praise be to Allah and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. The pledge is legitimate according to the Quran and , where it is mentioned in the Holy Quran and established in the Prophetic tradition. The wisdom behind it is to document the right and guarantee the fulfillment of the debt. It is permissible to pledge the sold item in its price to the seller to secure the deferred installments, whether the sold item is land, a car, or otherwise, with adherence to the Islamic regulations detailed in the books of jurisprudence. The seller is not entitled to retain ownership of the sold item after the sale, but he is allowed to stipulate its pledge with him.
