Is a son obligated to forcibly move his elderly mother from her old, pest-ridden home after her refusal, knowing that her health is deteriorating because of it?

The son should convince his mother to move from the old house if her continued stay there exposes her to illness. If she refuses, he cannot compel her as long as she is of sound mind. He must strive to clean the house and provide her necessities of food, drink, and service, whether by himself or by hiring someone to serve her. He should also exert effort in showing her filial piety and checking on her condition, especially in her old age, in obedience to the Almighty's saying: "And your Lord has decreed that you shall not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [uff] and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, 'My Lord, have mercy upon them as they nurtured me when I was small.'"
