What were the features of Ali ibn Abi Talib's face and body, may Allah be pleased with him?

Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, was of medium stature, inclining towards shortness. He had very dark eyes, a handsome face as if it were the moon on its full night, a large belly, broad shoulders, rough hands, and was strong. His neck was elegant, as if it were a silver ewer. He was bald, had a large beard, and joints like those of a predatory lion. His upper arm was indistinguishable from his forearm. When he walked, he swayed, and if he grasped a man's arm, the man would seize up and be unable to breathe. He tended towards stoutness, had strong forearms and hands. When he walked for battle, he would jog. He was firm of heart, strong, courageous, and victorious against whomever he met.
