What is the meaning of Al-Fath (Conquest) or Futuhat (Conquests)? And why do Muslims conquer lands of disbelievers? Are there conditions for the lands intended for conquest?

Islamic conquests involve subjugating disbelieving nations and incorporating them into the dominion of the Islamic state, with the aim of inviting them to Islam. The people of these lands are offered Islam; if they refuse, they are to pay jizya (tribute). If they decline both, then fighting ensues until they submit to the authority of the Muslims, thereby enabling Muslims to invite them to Islam. Thereafter, whoever wills among them may embrace Islam, and whoever wills may remain in their disbelief, provided they remain under Muslim authority and pay jizya to safeguard their lives and property.
