Am I required to return a balance transferred by mistake if returning it would cost me money?

The balance you received by mistake does not belong to you and must be returned. However, the cost of returning it is not your responsibility, because your possession of it is not a guarantee. If there is a cost to return the balance, then request it from its owner, or use from the balance what covers the cost and then return it. If you waive it, you will be rewarded.
