Is it obligatory to pay a doubled expiation and fast for someone who broke their fast in Ramadan due to illness and was unable to make up the days or pay the expiation?

If the delay in making up the missed days of Ramadan extends until the next Ramadan due to a legitimate excuse such as illness, pregnancy, or breastfeeding, then no expiation (fidyah) is required of you; you are only obliged to make up the missed days. However, if the delay is without a legitimate excuse, then in addition to making up the missed days, you must pay an expiation for each day that was delayed. This expiation does not multiply with the repetition of years. The feeding (of the poor) can be done before, after, or concurrently with making up the missed days.
