Children at the age of ten can distinguish and comprehend. Scholars have indicated the age of five or six as the beginning of imparting knowledge. Explaining the ruling concerning non-Muslims to children poses no problem, but it requires teaching foundational principles and basics in an appropriate manner. If a child comprehends and understands well, they should be taught the rulings they need, especially those imposed by their reality. One must start with the child with what is most important, then what is important, and the most important are matters of faith. It is recommended to refer to reliable contemporary books specifically designed for children in explaining the pillars of Islam and faith.
