ماذا يجب أن أفعل لإرضاء والدتي التي تسيء إلينا وتطلب المال، وهل دعواتها وغضبها علينا مقبول عند الله، مع العلم أنها تملك المال وتدخن السجائر؟

Mistreatment by a mother does not negate her right to dutifulness, kindness, and patience with her, for she has a great right. Allah Almighty has enjoined kindness to parents, and obedience to them is obligatory in matters that do not involve disobedience [to Allah]. Any tribulation that befalls a son due to his mother is a trial and a test. His duty is to be patient, fulfill her rights, and try to please and placate her. As for her anger and prayers against him, they do no harm if they are without cause, and whatever befalls the child is by Allah's decree.
