Does repeating speech about a person in their presence, after speaking about them in their absence with the same characteristic, remove the sin of backbiting (ghibah)?

Mentioning people's flaws that they dislike being mentioned is considered forbidden backbiting (gheeba). If this is done in their presence, it combines backbiting with harm and probing into the private lives of Muslims, all of which are forbidden. Allah Almighty says: "And do not backbite each other." And He says: "And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly borne slander and manifest sin." In the Hadith: "O you who have believed with your tongues but faith has not entered your hearts: Do not backbite Muslims, nor probe into their private lives. For indeed, whoever probes into their private lives, Allah will probe into his private life, and whoever Allah probes into his private life, He will expose him in his very home."
