What is the expiation for an oath of divorce, "I swear by triple divorce, you will not go to your uncle's," uttered in a state of anger?

If the swearer intended for divorce to occur to his wife should she go to her maternal uncle, then he cannot be absolved from that, and divorce takes place the moment she goes, if he intended her going absolutely, or if she went within the specified time if he intended to prevent her for a certain period. And if he intended to prevent and deter her without intending divorce, according to the majority of scholars, divorce occurs. However, Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah disagreed, saying: If the suspended divorce was intended for threat and intimidation without intending divorce, then its ruling is like that of an oath by Allah if one breaks it. The more cautious approach is to adopt the view of the majority. And one must be careful about swearing by divorce.
