How sound is the Hadith: "My Companions are like the stars; by whichever of them you guide yourselves, you will be guided"?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The "My Companions are like the stars; by whichever of them you guide yourselves, you will be rightly guided" is not authentic. Scholars have ruled it to be very weak, even fabricated. Among those who deemed it weak are Imam Ahmad, Ibn Abd al-Barr, and Ibn Hazm. Sheikh Al-Albani said about it: "Fabricated (Mawdu')."
