Is it permissible for a wife to leave her husband's home and seek a divorce after five years of marriage, claiming harm from her husband's family, and threatening him with court to demand high alimony, knowing that the husband lives in a separate house and has attempted reconciliation multiple times?

It is recommended to supplicate for the alleviation of distress and for reconciliation between spouses. If the wife leaves the home without permission or a legitimate reason, or requests a divorce without a legitimate cause, she is considered disobedient (nashiz). The husband is not legally obligated to rent another dwelling if the current one is independent, unless he sees this as a means of reconciliation. Reconciliation is best, and the wife's family should help, not incite. If reconciliation is futile, divorce may be the best option, and the husband has the right to refuse divorce until the wife pays a compensation. Spouses should elevate the importance of married life, which Allah called a "solemn covenant," and made it a source of tranquility, affection, and mercy. They should refer to Islamic law in cases of dispute, and it is not permissible for a woman to take her husband's money unless he willingly gives it or it is required by Islamic law.
