Could you please provide me with some hadiths that encourage prayer?
Prayer is of great importance in Islam, being the second pillar after the two declarations of faith (Shahadatayn). Many hadiths attest to its virtue, among them that it was the last topic spoken of by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and that it is the first thing people are called to after monotheism, and the first thing a servant will be held accountable for on the Day of Resurrection. It also erases sins and elevates ranks. For whoever preserves it, it will be a light, a proof, and a salvation on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever neglects it will be resurrected with Pharaoh and Haman. Allah has warned those who are negligent in prayer with "Woe" (destruction) and "Ghayy" (misguidance/punishment).
