The answer

The water that separates from the body during for (major ritual impurity) is pure (tahir); it does not defile what it falls upon, and there is no harm if drops of it fall into the washing basin due to the difficulty of avoiding it. Scholars have differed concerning it: some said it is pure and purifying (tahir mutahhir), while others said it is pure but not purifying (tahir ghair mutahhir), which is the opinion of the majority. Based on this, if some of it falls into the washing basin, it does not strip the water of its purifying quality unless it becomes excessive and widespread.
