What is the expiation for breaking an oath, and is it permissible to give it in cash to orphans in another country?

The questioner, if you swore an oath and then broke it, you are required to pay an expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat yamin). This involves feeding ten poor people, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. If you are unable to do any of these three, then you must fast for three days. For feeding, it is sufficient to give each poor person one mudd of food, and for clothing, a garment in which prayer is permissible. It is permissible to send the expiation to your maternal cousins' children if they are poor, but the entire expiation should not be sent to them if their number is less than ten.
