Is it permissible for a Muslim residing in the West to swear on a book other than the Qur’an, such as the Torah or the Gospel, if the validity of his testimony depends on that?

A Muslim should bring a copy of the Qur’an and swear an oath on it, clarifying that he is a Muslim and is not permitted to swear an oath on their distorted scriptures. Or he should inform them that Islam does not require an oath for testimony to be accepted.
